The
Inclusive Classroom
Welcome to ‘The Inclusive Classroom'!
As an educator with over 15 years of teaching experience, I’ve created this space for educators to visit and reflect on aspects of what entails an inclusive classroom. Over the years, my own perspective has evolved, and I am sure that it will continue to progress and develop with time. “The benefit to one will be the benefit of all.”(Forest & Pearpoint, 2017) It’s a shift from self-centered thinking to thinking of others. Equal opportunity doesn't mean or result in equitable practices.
The inclusive classroom is one where all members of the classroom community have a place to be themselves. Where each member is safe, has an individually defined purpose and meaningful role in this community.
