standard of Practice
With the aid of consistent 'focus groups' amongst the stakeholders, avenues of collaboration is encouraged to engage in collective reflection. As a result this 'engages the stakeholders' which would assist with gathering 'credible evidence' and in 'justifying conclusions'. With the usability of the data and analysis this should also 'ensure use and share lessons' from the evaluation design.
The intention is to fulfil all the 'standards' of utility, feasibility, propriety, and accuracy. In the design format this is the intent, however in reality there will be some standards which would be more fulfilled over others. One standard in particular which I would question is 'proprietary' since I feel this particular standard is dependant on the evaluators and how the evaluation design is handled from the beginning, middle and end. |
Standards of Practice Elaborated
Utility
- With a variety of quantitative and qualitative data the information could serve to better inform administrators and the affected stakeholders of the need for more wellness and mindfulness projects.
- With the involvement of staff, students, and parents the concept of mindfulness and how it is implemented is not one sided and looked at from all members of the community for a better analysis.
- With a balanced approach in collecting data and getting to know the community that is involve, the intent is to provide information back to the community. This is the standard that would be more difficult to implement, since this would require evaluators to develop an interpersonal relationship with the community members in a legal, ethical manner and keeping the best interest of those involved in mind.
- With a wide range of options in how the data is collected, this could address outlying data which could be misinterpreted to misrepresent the outcomes and impact of the program. As a result of the variety the intention is to get a varying data set for a more holistic approach of revealing and conveying the information accurately.
